We don’t try and compete with the big boys in resort, we try to stay unique and true to mountain life. We understand that skiing is fun but not for everyone, so at Chalet Savoie Faire we have a variety of activities throughout the winter months to suit the whole family.
Of course some of you may want to ski, we are 35 minutes away from some of the best ski resorts in the world, Courchevel, Meribel, Val Thorens and Val Morel. We can prepare you an early breakfast and you can slide all day, returning to a beautiful afternoon tea and evening meal. The price of a 3 Valley lift pass is 61€ per day or a 4 hour half day for 54€.
If it’s the cross country scene you would like to experience then you are in luck, it’s 2 km from the front door. Equipment hire and instruction can be arranged at the newly furbished “La Maison de Naves”. A small bus will take you further up the mountain where you have access to over 35km of groomed cross country tracks. Through the forests, over open fields and you may even be lucky enough to see some wildlife. Prices for ski rental and area pass – 16€ per day plus a bus pass 3€. Lessons can be arranged upon request, 1 hour for 1 or 2 people 43€ or 2 hours 80€.
For those of you with unbound energy and know that walking uphill can be fun and skiing down through open fields even better, then come and experience the back country area of Naves. You just need to purchase the day area pass at 7€. Rule of thumb, never ski over the cross country tracks. You will need your own equipment for this experience.
Tennis rackets with spikes attached to your feet, “snow shoeing”, there’s no better way to explore the unspoilt valley of Naves, leaving from the doorstep of Chalet Savoie Faire. If you love walking, want peace and quiet, fresh air and nature at it’s best, then with just a little training, you can be stepping across virgin snow into a winter wonderland. Daily rental 14€, including bus trip.
Sledging, what a fun and fast experience to share, no matter what the age. In Grande Naves the ‘La Maison de Naves” rents out sledges for 1 or 2 people with brakes, they have a specially groomed slope for sledging only with protective barriers for those not wanting to use the brakes. Sledge rental 4€ per day.

If it’s one of those days when you just don’t want to venture out due to cold weather, snowfall and bad visibility, don’t despair, we run half day cookery classes for a minimum of 4 guests. Fun in the kitchen, cooking a delicious 5 course lunch that is shared at the end of the session. Learn about the local cuisine, using fresh and organic produce, a great family day to remember. Half day courses – adults 130€ pp – Children 80€
In La Lechere, a 13km drive down into the valley, we are very fortunate to have natural mountain thermal springs. A great set up, 5 separately heated indoor pools at different temperatures, two saunas, two steam rooms and a lovely 38C hot tub on the roof, overlooking the mountain tops. Spa entry is 29€ pp, Adults only, speedos for men I’m afraid!
The latest adventure up here in Naves is the Electric Fatbike, come an experience cycling on the hard packed snow with a qualified guide. It’s something else, no noise, a little effort and the most spectacular views to take in whilst peddling away. The bikes are heavy so are suited for those a bit of strength and who know how to cycle, not recommended for children under the age of 15, unless super tall and mighty strong. Prices start from 40€ pp, 1 and a half hours with a guide, although there are other options available.
