Spring has arrived and so has a new stage of the build – we have a septic tank, hooray. No longer a pipe that runs into a field and if you are wondering, NO we never did use the toilet. The kitchen is also installed along with a water tank and new electrical box. The underfloor heating and oak floor has been laid, plastering finished which means the bottom snug is close to decorating. The bedroom & top ensuite is so close to be finished, only waiting on the glass enclosure for the shower area to arrive. Exciting times, Hugh can see the light at the end of the tunnel and most of the heavy work has been completed. Famous last words!
An expensive part of the build but a necessary one – Good old septic tank.
Hughbie, always watching over a job when he’s not in involved with the dig or build.
Lovely steps down into the snug, made with the old wood found on the site.
Plastering is finished, underfloor heating and floor boards are down.
I love the quirkiness of the curves and line this build has – so unique!
Shower and bathroom floor, beautiful Italian tiles.
Love this little treasure I found at the Troc , it just fits perfectly.
Pulling through all the electrical cables.

I can’t wait to test out the new kitchen. We found just enough tiles that were left over from CSF, so the flow continues.
The black table bases I bought two years ago, I knew there was a use for them at some stage in my life.
Wonder boy deserves cake!
On track to have the cave room and ensuite finished by the end of June, then I can get my teeth stuck into decorating – watch this space.
Looks stunning, so much hard work but what a great result. Can’t wait to see all the magical finishing touches x
Thanks Elaine, we are hoping to have it finished and open for guests to enjoy from the start of August.
