Hiking in the mountains is an activity that can be enjoyed by most people and to various degrees of difficulty. The vast number of marked trails in the area ensures that walkers can trek in safety whilst enjoying the stunning views the area has to offer. Ramblers and hikers get to see the mountains at their best from snow capped peaks to shady forests and magnificent waterfalls to picturesque Savoyard villages. Along with lush meadows bursting with alpine flowers and icy mountain streams the views from the trails around Chalet Savoie Faire are unforgettable.
Sunset picnics can be arranged where you can hike up to the surrounding peaks and enjoy an aperitif as the mountains are backlit by the setting sun. This is a glorious way to watch the sun set with friends – unforgettable. Then head torches on and back to the luxury of Chalet Savoie Faire for supper!
English speaking guides who know the area well can be hired for a day’s trekking or for multi day hiking adventures staying in refuges and making the most of the stunning panoramic views. Of course, multi day treks can be undertaken without a guide, there are plenty of well marked trails and routes in the Beaufortain to follow. Nikki and Hugh can advise you on which mountain huts to stay in and can even make reservations for you in advance.
