Savoie Faire is the brainchild of Nikki Shields Quinn and her husband, Hugh. With more than 30 years experience of cooking, entertaining and managing properties, Nikki and Hugh have transformed an abandoned barn in the beautiful village of Fontaines Naves, into a stunning luxury mountain lodge and cookery school.
Nikki and Hugh are delighted to welcome Blue Illusion’s most valued customers into their home with an exclusively curated introduction to life in the Tarentaise. Fontaines Naves is a picturesque mountain village, with stunning views across the valley.
Our Luxury Alpine Retreat
Our boutique chalet is a modern renovation of a Savoyard farmhouse offering cosy comfort that you will feel as soon as you walk through the front door. The colours are warm and make you feel at home – it’s the perfect place to rest and watch the world go by.
Special attention has been paid to the beds as a good night’s sleep after a day on the mountain is essential. All beds are made up with quality bed linen, 100% woollen bed toppers, feather quilts and as many pillows as you want. There are three individually styled and beautifully appointed bathrooms in total.
This property has been built with you in mind, it’s spacious and warm. A real home-away from-home.
Food and refreshments at Chalet Savoie Faire
To eat Nikki’s food is to love it. Guests eating at Nikki’s exquisitely decorated table are in heaven. Diners have described the experience as “exquisite“, “original and delicious” ,”amazing“, while others struggled to explain what they felt afterwards: “Words cannot describe the food“.
Nikki and Hugh serve hearty, healthy delicious food inspired by their surroundings and cuisines around the world. Everyone is welcome at their table, so if you have any dietary requirements do not hesitate to let Nikki know.

How to get to Chalet Savoie Faire
Guests for this exclusive experience will fly into Geneva. Both private and group transfers are available from the airport. Guests will also have the option to travel by train from Paris or Lyon to Moutiers.
Day One – Welcome!
You have arrived.
Check-in begins at 3pm. Take your time settling in whilst enjoying warm tea with cake by the fire.
As you familiarise yourself with the Chalet, we will brief you on the week ahead. Enjoy dinner in the top dining room, and then a cosy rest as you prepare for the very special week ahead.
Day Two – Délicieux!
Indulge in a traditional breakfast of warm pastries, jams, juices and granolas, while sipping on fresh coffee and wild harvested tea. Then, let’s get fitted for snow gear!
Afterwards, we’ll enjoy a gentle walk in the forest as you get to know the local villages.
Enjoy lunch on a mountain peak with glorious views. Then aperitifs before enjoying the local specialty— Fondue Savoyard with carefully selected wines to match.
Day Three
Choose your adventure today, hike, snow, rest or read.
Lunch will be served in the beautiful natural forests followed by a dip in the thermal springs— today is the perfect opportunity to unwind and connect with nature, after the springs enjoy a full body massage.
Tonight, we will relax at the Chalet for dinner and drinks.
Day Four
After breakfast, we will head to the must-visit lake town of Annecy. Dubbed the ‘Mini Venice’ of the French Alps, be charmed by the town’s cobblestone streets lined with unique boutiques and designer shops.
We’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant by the canal, followed by a touch a shopping and then a chocolate tasting.

Day Five
Breakfast is served, and then it’s off to the charming markets of Moutiers. Tantalise your tastebuds with local cheeses and delicacies!
We’ll pick up some goodies to take back to the chalet in the afternoon. For lunch, we’ll head to a farm to table restaurant.
Then, spend the afternoon with Nikki in the kitchen as together we prepare a dinner to share.

Day Six
Start your day with a traditional breakfast at the Chalet. Then we’ll take our snowshoes to the mountain peak, to enjoy an unforgettable picnic in nature.
Soak up the stunning views, local delicacies, pâtes and wines.
For the afternoon? Yoga, of course! Followed by a candle lit dinner.
Day Seven
After breakfast we’ll take a gentle stroll to the studio for a session of deeply relaxing Yin Yoga with Natalie.
For lunch, let’s return to the chalet and then on an adventure to browse the local broncante to see what treasures can be found.
Spend the afternoon in Albertville for a spot of shopping followed by afternoon tea in Conflans, a medieval village.
For our final evening, a soirée! We will fine dine and wine, for a parfait way to say au revoir.
Day Eight
Enjoy your last Chalet breakfast for a mid-morning departure, as you recount the incredible memories made on this very special Blue Illusion French Experience.
