Chalet Savoie Faire offers cyclists and road biking enthusiasts luxury mountain accommodation in a quiet village location with stunning views over the world famous Col de la Madeleine.
Nestled in the heart of the French Alps this lovingly restored Savoyard barn is the perfect base from which to cycle the nearby Cols and mountain roads.

Keen cyclists of all abilities and levels can challenge themselves on the surrounding peaks and valleys. Chalet Savoie Faire is within striking distance of some of the most classic climbs in a cyclist’s agenda including the Col de la Madeleine, Col de la Croix de Fer and the Col du Télégraphe.

Nikki and Hugh can organise multi day circuits for road cyclists looking to combine a few challenging rides with some more leisurely ones. Alternatively half day or full day rides can be undertaken that take in the best scenery the beautiful Tarentaise region of France has to offer. Some of the stages and climbs that have been successfully tackled by our guests include: Col du Galibier, Mont Ventoux, Col du Glandon, Col du Grand Saint Bernard, the La Toussuire climb and the Col du Mollard.

Being based in Naves means that you can tackle some of the truly amazing stages from the Tour de France. As you exert yourself on these renowned étapes you can’t fail to notice the stunning scenery along the route. From snow capped peaks to picturesque Savoyard villages taking in quiet country roads, lush alpine meadows and impressive forests along the way will ensure that this is a road biking break you’ll never forget. Motorists in this area are used to sharing the local roads with cyclists and bikes and are particularly considerate of those challenging themselves. This makes the area even more of a delight to explore by road bike.

Bike hire, guides and transport can all be arranged via your hosts Hugh and Nikki. Racing road bikes for all levels can be hired locally. Let them know your requirements in advance and you’ll find that along with the warmest of welcomes all your cycling needs will have been arranged. Benefit from Hugh’s vast knowledge of the area road cycling circuits. Having slowly transformed Chalet Savoie Faire over five years, using much of the original wood and stonework and incorporating many traditional Savoyard designs, he is now enjoying a well-earned rest- back on his bike for more mountain training. Hugh is sponsored by Capo and his passion for bikes and his previous experience can only add to your Savoie Faire experience.
